Bidadari HDB Project
Project Overview
This HDB renovation is a sophisticated study in contrast. It reimagines traditional Victorian elegance through a clean, modern lens, blending ornate textures with high-end contemporary materials. The design philosophy focuses on “Visual Silence”—hiding the clutter of daily life behind seamless architectural features to let the craftsmanship take center stage.

What Makes This HDB Design Special
The "Fluted" Rhythm
- Instead of flat, boring surfaces, the kitchen island and TV console use vertical grooves to create a "ribbed" effect.
- These grooves interact with light to create a natural "play of shadows," making furniture pieces look like architectural sculptures rather than just storage
Neoclassical "Wainscoting”
- This is a classic European technique that instantly signals "high-end.
"The Curve" vs. "The Line"
- This design is special because it softens the space with curves.
- The Kitchen Island: The rounded end of the island breaks the rigid grid of the kitchen. It makes the transition between the kitchen and dining area feel more fluid and organic.
- Safety & Flow: Practically, these "soft edges" make it much easier to move through the house without bumping into corners.
"Invisible" Lighting Design
- Cove Lighting: Notice the "glow" coming from the ceiling and behind the You rarely see the light bulbs themselves.
- Floating Effect: In the study room and kitchen, the LED strips under the shelves make the heavy cabinetry feel like it is "floating," which makes the rooms feel lighter and more spacious.
